What WD-40 Flexible does:

• Silicone-free. With over 2000 known uses, WD-40 cleans, protects, displaces moisture, penetrates, removes oil, dirt, grease and grime, dissolves adhesives, dries electrical systems and eliminates moisture-induced short circuits. Lubricates sticky mechanisms, eliminating squeaks and creaks. Penetrates components to loosen rusted, frozen or stuck metal fastenings and holds firmly to all moving parts. Protects metal surfaces from rust and corrosion, shielding against moisture on bare metal. It will not affect fabrics, rubbers or plastics.
