FAQ's

Question. How much is delivery?

Question. If it's on the website, it must be in stock, right?

Answer. An item shown on the website does NOT guarantee stock. The website inventory is updated every 24 hours . If in doubt, please phone 01983 523636 Ext 237 to check stock levels before travelling or placing an order.                                                         

Question. I've seen what I want for sale in the Hurst shops. Why can't I see it on the website?

Answer. When we set up the website, it was to allow us to sell to the rest of the country. A 'Mainland Branch' if you like. We decided to put our most popular lines on first in the hope that most of our Island customers would have a good knowledge of what we do and would ring us to make any enquiries. As it has grown we are finding that we get more and more orders from Island customers and we are aiming for a time when all but a few items are on the site. The website has around 3,000 items on it at the moment, whereas the store has 30,000 items. As you can imagine it will take some time before everything is available. Anything we stock can still be delivered and paid for over the phone, if required, even if it is not on the website. And delivery is free, on the Island, for orders over £10. You can also email any requirements to shop@hurst-iw.co.uk. 

Question. Can I buy online using a card and then get someone else to pick the goods up in the shop?

Answer. The simple answer is no.  You can, however, pick the goods up yourself from the shop, but you will need a means of identification and the card you used to make the purchase. This is in line with guidance from the card issuers to protect customers and retailers from fraud. 

Question. Do you deliver outside of the UK?

Answer. I'm afraid that we don't deliver outside of the UK at the moment.                                     

Question. I live in the Channel Islands. Can I get goods delivered here?

Answer. I'm afraid that we don't normally send to Jersey, Guernsey or any of the other Channel Islands. However, if the item is small enough to go in the Royal Mail letter post, give us a ring and we'll see what we can do.

Question. What is your returns policy?

Answer. If an item IS NOT FAULTY and is incorrect as the result of a mistake or decision made by you, you can return goods you have ordered from us for any reason at any time within 28 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange. The cost incurred in returning goods to us shall be borne by you. Upon receipt of the goods we will give you a full refund of the amount paid or an exchange credit as required. A full refund will only be given if the item is returned in its original packaging and in an unused, resaleable condition.  

If an item IS FAULTY or incorrectly sent as the result of a mistake by us, please notify us by e-mail at shop@hurst-iw.co.uk.  or by telephone on 01983 523636. In the event that a return or exchange is necessary for a faulty item the cost incurred in returning goods to us shall be borne by us. More details can be found in our Terms & Conditions.
