CSH relates to the shape:

Hexagon nuts
Used in wood construction, they have a domed head and a square collar under the head. The square section grips into the timber, preventing the bolt from turning when the nut is tightened
Length refers to shaft & neck length combined (excludes head measurement)
M8 will fit a 8mm diameter hole, M refers to metric size 8mm
