Vitax Fruit Tree Grease 200g
Part No. 5TG200
Brush on monitoring trap for winter moths on fruit trees
The tree trunk is the main thoroughfare for many pests to attach fruit trees and the use of tree great provides a simple and effective means of monitoring pests activity.
Pests such as the Winter moth and the Mottled umber moth invade fruit tree in late October to early December whilst the March moth invades in early spring.
The tree grease applied in autumn (September / Early October) and renewed in February will trap female wingless adults, indicating the degree of infestation.
Spring applications of insecticide should be made to neighbouring untreated trees where wingless moths trapped on the grease indicates an infestation.
Directions for use:
For tree grease to be fully effective a complete barrier must be formed.
Choose a suitable position on the trunk at least 45cm above ground level but below the lowest branch and remove any loose bark.
Using a stiff brush form a ring approximately 10cm wide around the girth of the tree making sure that the tree grease is worked into any cracks or crevices.
Please read instructions carefully before use.
